Fall Reflections

Back in October I was cruising around Mount Rainier National Park. It was nice and sunny and I thought Reflection Lake would be a good stop. I hadn’t been there in a while so I headed up through the Paradise Visitor’s Center but the road across the valley to Reflection Lake was closed. Luckily I […]

Road to Mount Rainier

Back in October we had a good stretch of rain followed by a short break so we packed up the kids and headed up to Rainier. There was no way we were passing up a sunny fall day in the park. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The […]

Sourdough Ridge Trail

Here’s one from the Sourdough Ridge Trail in Mount Rainier National Park taken over the summer. I was up in the Sunrise area a couple weekends ago and it definitely didn’t look like this. Visability was poor and it was pouring down rain. I did see three bucks though. No one can serve two masters. […]

Mount Rainier From Sunrise

If you head up to Mount Rainier make sure to check out the Sunrise side. There are some great views without hiking very far. But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop – Luke 8:15

From The Other Side

Here’s the last of my bridge shots from the Silver Falls Trail in Mount Rainier National Park. Great trail that the kids can do. I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he – […]

Mount Fremont Lookout Trail

I was up at Sunrise in Mount Rainier National Park a couple weeks ago. We attempted to hike up to the Mount Fremont Lookout but the kids (3 and 5) could only make it about 2 miles up the trail and they still had to hike back. I was surprised they made it that far. […]

Silver Falls Bridge

Is it just me or do other people think twice when leaking over wooden bridges like this one when hiking? I’m sure they are made well but I’m always thinking the wood planks could snap at any moment so I try to walk on the edges where they are nailed in. Maybe I’m just paranoid. […]

The Trail to Silver Falls

Here’s one from the Silver Falls Trail in Mount Rainier National Park. It’s a nice short trail near the Ohanapecosh Campground. Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved – Mark 13:13
