Night Lights

Here’s another night shot of Seattle taken from across the Puget Sound. There was a massive large cargo ship anchored in the middle of sound that was blocking the Space Needle the previous night. This night I was in a different spot to where I could get the city and the Space Needle without any obstructions. I would have liked to incorporate the ship but it just wasn’t working from where I was at so no ship for you.

“Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!” – Isaiah 30:18

View From West Seattle

If you haven’t been to West Seattle it a pretty cool little beach town. There’s a nice waterfront walk that goes for a couple miles with great views of the city especially at night with reflections coming off the Puget Sound.

“Having heard everything, I have reached this conclusion: Fear God and keep his commandments, because this is the whole duty of man” – Ecclesiastes 12:13

Rain at the Needle

It’s amazing how time flies. I went to Kerry Park for the first time almost 2 years ago waiting for the sun to set and watching the rain pass by over Seattle (I stayed dry where I was at). I had gotten there a couple hours before sunset which was a good thing because it got pretty crowded when sunset rolled around. I took this shot while I was waiting so that I’d be ready at least compositionally when the magic happened.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” – Proverbs 9:10

Special Reserve

We took an out-of-town visitor to Pike’s Place Market and the original Starbucks in Seattle a few weeks ago. There’s usually a long line to get into the orginal Starbucks and this day was no different. It was kind of nice though because while we were waiting in line a street performer came up and started playing guitar. He starting playing a song that I knew I heard before but I couldn’t remember what song it was. As he started singing I thought he sounded pretty good and the song was catchy. Then I heard the words “I Want It That Way”… it was a Backstreet Boys song. I was ashamed that I knew it but in my defense I had a younger sister that was prime boy-band age when that song came out so I’m sure I heard it a million times.

Here’s some coffee for those of you who need a little boost on Monday morning. I hear that this is a blend that you can only get at the original Starbucks. I don’t drink coffee so I can’t tell you if it is good or not.

“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth.” – Psalm 34:15-16

Something Different

After getting a shot of the Seattle with my zoom lens I decided to try something different and use my wide angle. This is up at Kerry Park in Seattle, Washington.

City Lights

I’ve only lived in Washington a couple of years and once I heard about Kerry Park I wanted to check it out. Well a couple of weeks ago I was in Seattle (I don’t go there that often) and I thought today is the day. I got up to Kerry Park about an hour and half before sunset and staked out a spot. It was a little cold but definitely worth the wait. I even saw a DeLorean cruise up when I was waiting for sunset. Roads…where we’re going we don’t need roads.

Glass Jungle

I didn’t catch the name of this exhibit at the Chihuly Glass Museum in Seattle but it was really cool. I wanted to get up close but not too close because I didn’t want to accidentally hit one of the pieces causing it to crash into another like a domino effect. I can be a kind of a klutz sometimes so I was extra careful.

Chihuly Glass House

I went to the Chihuly glass museum in Seattle for the first time last weekend. I haven’t really been to a museum like that before so I thought it was pretty cool. Admission was a little expensive ($19 per adult) but I had a gift card so that helped. I felt a little weird taking pictures of someone else’s art work but it was so unique that I couldn’t help it.
