Sixth Bridge

This is Sixth Bridge located in Jasper National Park, Canada. Even though there weren’t that many people around it seemed as though every time I’d almost be done with the long exposure someone would walk into the frame. I don’t mind waiting but it happened a multiple times and then one guy decided to sit in the middle of the bridge and read a map. I just needed sixty seconds! I guess it was a good lesson in patience.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. – John 3:17

A Stream Runs Through It

Here’s another shot from a stream running through the Colonial Creek Campground in North Cascades National Park, Washington.

Stick Up

Here’s a long exposure from the Colonial Creek Campground in North Cascades National Park, Washington.

I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted – Luke 18:14

Colonial Creek Campground

Here’s one from the Colonial Creek Campground in North Cascades National Park, Washington. There are a couple of walk-in sites that are right next to this creek and others in the trees along the Diablo Lake shore. Pretty nice.

For the Son of Man in his day will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other. Luke 17:24

Athabasca River

So the weather wasn’t that great when we were in Jasper. The weeks before and after we were there were sunny and 70. The week we were there it was rainy and in the 50s. We did get some higher clouds and sun breaks which I made sure not to pass up. This is of the Athabasca River looking north.

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? – Luke 12:25

Golden Sunset

One stop we made before heading into Jasper was in Golden, Canada. We only stayed for the night but I was able to enjoy a nice sunset down by the Kicking Horse River

There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs. – Luke 12:2-3

Forest Stream

Here’s one from the Avalanche Lake Trail in Glacier National Park, Montana.

“‘Have faith in God,’ Jesus answered. ‘Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins'” – Mark 11:22-25

Stevens Creek

This is Stevens Creek in Mount Rainier National Park. The hike to here is about 1.4 miles making it 2.8 mile out and back. The beginning of the trail is fairly steep and you’ll have to it at the end of the hike so make sure you save some water for the end. It’s not too bad though. My four year old did it.

“On hearing this, Jesus said to them, ‘It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners” – Mark 2:17

Rain Forest Loop

You know what’s stressful to do is take a long exposure with two little ones hanging around. I had the bright idea of doing a long exposure to get the water flowing under the bridge with them next to me with really nowhere for them to go since we were bound by the boardwalk we were on. For 2 minutes I fended them off while the shot developed. I told the younger one (2 years old) not to touch the tripod and of course she has to put her foot within millimeters of the tripod leg. Luckily, the shot came out because I sure wasn’t going to try another long exposure under those conditions.

This is from the Rain Forest Loop at the Carbonado Entrance in Mount Rainier National Park.

“‘Haven’t you read,’ he replied, ‘that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female, and said, For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate'” – Matthew 19:4-6
