Last Shot of the Day

Here’s the last shot I took from the snowshoe up at Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park in January.

Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” – John 11:40

Afternoon Snowshoe

Here’s one from a snowshoe up at Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park taken in January. I had been sick the day before so I wasn’t feeling 100% but it was sunny and warm (32°F) so there was no way I could pass it up.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die” – John 11:25

Snowy Trail

Here’s another shot from the Trail of the Shadows taken on Christmas Eve. The trail goes around a marshy area and I spotted a standing tree (not pictured) that had been gnawed on by a beaver. Keeps your eyes peeled for it if you do the hike.

I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. – John 10:16

Colonial Creek Long Exposure

Here’s a long exposure from Colonial Creek Campground in North Cascades National Park.

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” – John 8:12

Longmire Icicles

Back on Christmas Eve 2016 we made a trip to Longmire in Mount Rainier National Park for some family fun in the snow. As we pulled in I noticed these pretty cool icicles coming off the roof of the administration building.

Sunrise Visitor’s Center

Here’s a shot from inside the Sunrise Visitor’s Center in Mount Rainier National Park.

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth – John 4:23-24

Double Rainbow

If the eye of the hurricane is calm and peaceful. What’s the eye of the rainbow like? This is was taken at Beauvert Lake in Jasper, Canada.

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them – John 3:36

Shores of Medicine Lake

Here’s one from Medicine Lake in Jasper National Park, Canada taken this past September.

This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God – John 3:19-21

Sixth Bridge

This is Sixth Bridge located in Jasper National Park, Canada. Even though there weren’t that many people around it seemed as though every time I’d almost be done with the long exposure someone would walk into the frame. I don’t mind waiting but it happened a multiple times and then one guy decided to sit in the middle of the bridge and read a map. I just needed sixty seconds! I guess it was a good lesson in patience.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. – John 3:17

On the Thunder Creek Trail

The Thunder Creek Trail in North Cascades National Park is a nice flat trail (for the first two miles) that goes along…wait for it…Thunder Creek. I think it’s about 2 miles in before you hit a wooden bridge that crosses the river. I think it’s a good goal to shoot for if you have little ones. We went a little farther than the bridge but then it starts to go uphill. It wasn’t too steep but you got to keep things fun and exciting when hiking with kids. Steep usually doesn’t meet that criteria. Plus they have to be able to hike back and there’s only so many kids you can carry 🙂

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life – John 3:16
