Athabasca Glacier

Here’s one of the Athabasca Glacier taken in Jasper National Park, Canada. You can get on the glacier and hike around if you’re so inclined. We didn’t have warm enough clothes for the little ones so we enjoyed the glacier from the Icefield Interpretive Centre.

If you look closely you can see a blue VW bus with a white roof. I saw that car in town and those people came all the way from Argentina. That must have been some road trip!

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord – Acts 3:19

Winter in Snoqualmie

We attempted a snowshoe up at Denny Creek back in January but by the time we got there (around noon) the place was packed and we couldn’t find a parking spot. So, we headed up to Snoqualmie Ski Mountain and that place was a zoo. We ended up snowshoeing a little bit around the Nordic track. The kids had fun playing in the snow but it wasn’t what I really had in mind. We did however check out Gold Creek which is near where I took this shot. The Gold Creek area looked like a much better place to snowshoe around. Next time we need to get there a lot earlier. Live and learn.

I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful – John 15:1-2

Last Shot of the Day

Here’s the last shot I took from the snowshoe up at Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park in January.

Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” – John 11:40

Afternoon Snowshoe

Here’s one from a snowshoe up at Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park taken in January. I had been sick the day before so I wasn’t feeling 100% but it was sunny and warm (32°F) so there was no way I could pass it up.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die” – John 11:25

Fall Reflections

Back in October I was cruising around Mount Rainier National Park. It was nice and sunny and I thought Reflection Lake would be a good stop. I hadn’t been there in a while so I headed up through the Paradise Visitor’s Center but the road across the valley to Reflection Lake was closed. Luckily I caught a Ranger just as he was leaving for the day and found out the lower road was open. Thanks Mr. Ranger!

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. – John 1:14

Road to Mount Rainier

Back in October we had a good stretch of rain followed by a short break so we packed up the kids and headed up to Rainier. There was no way we were passing up a sunny fall day in the park.

In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. – John 1:4-5

Sourdough Ridge Trail

Here’s one from the Sourdough Ridge Trail in Mount Rainier National Park taken over the summer. I was up in the Sunrise area a couple weekends ago and it definitely didn’t look like this. Visability was poor and it was pouring down rain. I did see three bucks though.

No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. – Luke 16:13

Clear Lake

I was at Northwest Trek a few weeks ago and had to make a stop by Clear Lake. I wonder how the people living there feel living next to a wild animal park with grizzly bears, wolves, and mountain lions. What some fences get blown down and they escape? If you live there and are thinking of selling because of this, let me know. I’ll give you $100 and I’ll make sure to send you pictures of the view so you won’t miss anything. It’s a win-win 😀

For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted – Luke 14:11

Athabasca River

So the weather wasn’t that great when we were in Jasper. The weeks before and after we were there were sunny and 70. The week we were there it was rainy and in the 50s. We did get some higher clouds and sun breaks which I made sure not to pass up. This is of the Athabasca River looking north.

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? – Luke 12:25

Bow Lake

Just got back from a trip to the amazing Jasper National Park, Canada. Plenty of awesome sights along the way like Bow Lake which is in Banff National Park.

He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. – Luke 10:2
