Sunrise Visitor’s Center

Here’s a shot from inside the Sunrise Visitor’s Center in Mount Rainier National Park.

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth – John 4:23-24

Fall Reflections

Back in October I was cruising around Mount Rainier National Park. It was nice and sunny and I thought Reflection Lake would be a good stop. I hadn’t been there in a while so I headed up through the Paradise Visitor’s Center but the road across the valley to Reflection Lake was closed. Luckily I caught a Ranger just as he was leaving for the day and found out the lower road was open. Thanks Mr. Ranger!

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. – John 1:14

Road to Mount Rainier

Back in October we had a good stretch of rain followed by a short break so we packed up the kids and headed up to Rainier. There was no way we were passing up a sunny fall day in the park.

In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. – John 1:4-5

Clear Lake

I was at Northwest Trek a few weeks ago and had to make a stop by Clear Lake. I wonder how the people living there feel living next to a wild animal park with grizzly bears, wolves, and mountain lions. What some fences get blown down and they escape? If you live there and are thinking of selling because of this, let me know. I’ll give you $100 and I’ll make sure to send you pictures of the view so you won’t miss anything. It’s a win-win 😀

For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted – Luke 14:11

Mount Rainier View From Sunrise

Here’s another shot of Mount Rainier from Sunrise.

For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open – Luke 8:17

Mount Rainier From Sunrise

If you head up to Mount Rainier make sure to check out the Sunrise side. There are some great views without hiking very far.

But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop – Luke 8:15

Head in the Clouds

Here’s a shot of Rainier from the Mount Fremont Lookout Trail in Mount Rainier National Park. There was this fog that would roll in and totally cover the mountain. Then, a couple minutes later it would clear up and then repeat. That’s mountain weather for you.

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of – Luke 6:45

Barn Claw

I was cruising around The Claw (Enumclaw, Washington) a couple evenings ago and spotted this nice red barn with Mount Rainier in the distance.

Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you – Luke 6:37-38

Just a Glimpse

I was up at Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park doing a short hike with the family and friends. It was overcast and gloomy when we got there and the mountain wasn’t even out. We started our hike to Myrtle Falls and then towards Golden Gate and the mountain still wouldn’t show itself. But then, for about 5 minutes, the clouds parted, the sun broke through, and there she was in all her glory. I stopped along the trail and took some pictures and then just like that she was gone never to be seen or heard of again…okay okay maybe not but really we didn’t see the mountain again after that.

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. – Luke 2:10-11

From the Start

I’m ashamed to admit that I didn’t head up to the Paradise side of Mount Rainier this last summer, which is my favorite side of the mountain. We did go to some other cool places but we just ran out of weekends I guess. Anyway, this is from the start of a hike I did in the Summer of 2014 up to Camp Muir. It was a nice and sunny July morning when we did the hike. It was a long haul up to Camp Muir at 10,000 feet. I think it took about 4 hours to go 4 miles but it was awesome.
