Double Rainbow

If the eye of the hurricane is calm and peaceful. What’s the eye of the rainbow like? This is was taken at Beauvert Lake in Jasper, Canada.

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them – John 3:36

Shores of Medicine Lake

Here’s one from Medicine Lake in Jasper National Park, Canada taken this past September.

This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God – John 3:19-21

Pyramid Lake

This is Pyramid Lake in Jasper, Canada. It was a good thing I was in Jasper for a week because the first time I went to Pyramid Lake it was stormy with poor visibility. I saw an informational kiosk that showed the lake on a sunny day with it being surrounded mountains. I knew I had to get back there and see it in all its glory. Luckily I got a sun break and the lake was pretty easy to get to (you can drive right up to it) so I headed back for this shot.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” – John 1:29

Leech Lake

This is from Leech Lake in Jasper National Park. Hopefully it’s named after a person with the last name of Leech and not named after the blood sucking worms. I wouldn’t venture for a dip in that lake. I’ve seen Stand by Me.

In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents – Luke 15:10

Clear Lake

I was at Northwest Trek a few weeks ago and had to make a stop by Clear Lake. I wonder how the people living there feel living next to a wild animal park with grizzly bears, wolves, and mountain lions. What some fences get blown down and they escape? If you live there and are thinking of selling because of this, let me know. I’ll give you $100 and I’ll make sure to send you pictures of the view so you won’t miss anything. It’s a win-win 😀

For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted – Luke 14:11

Sunset at Sheep Lake

Sunset from Sheep Lake, WA. The trail that goes to the lake is part of the Pacific Crest Trail and I met a guy from Germany that had been hiking since April. Amazing that he’s made it that far. Only about 200 miles left 🙂 On another note, don’t set up your tent next to the Pacific Crest Trail. I unfortunately had to because I couldn’t get a better spot. The bad part was that at random hours of the night hikers would trudge along the trail right next to my tent. Being half asleep it sounded like I was going to get trampled by a heard of elk! I didn’t get much sleep.

He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” – Luke 11:28

Sheep Lake

I took my (almost) five year old backpacking for the first time to Sheep Lake just outside of Mount Rainier National Park. It’s a 1.8 mile hike in and pretty popular spot so get there early if you plan on camping on the weekend.

Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. – Luke 11:23

Bow Lake

Just got back from a trip to the amazing Jasper National Park, Canada. Plenty of awesome sights along the way like Bow Lake which is in Banff National Park.

He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. – Luke 10:2

Diablo Lake

I just got back from a trip to North Cascades National Park. Had a great time hiking and exploring around there. This is Diablo Lake taken from the Thunder Knob Trail. I couldn’t believe how green the water was. Looked like something out of the Canadian Rockies.

But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. – Luke 6:27-28

Avalanche Lake

This is Avalanche Lake in Glacier National Park. It’s a 4.6 mile hike to the lake and back. I’ve done this hike numerous times usually with friends that haven’t been to the park before. You pop out of some trees when you get to the lake and the view is amazing every time.

“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these” – Mark 12:30-31
