Snowy Trail

Here’s another shot from the Trail of the Shadows taken on Christmas Eve. The trail goes around a marshy area and I spotted a standing tree (not pictured) that had been gnawed on by a beaver. Keeps your eyes peeled for it if you do the hike.

I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. – John 10:16

Hike Around Beauvert Lake

Here’s another one from Beauvert Lake in Jasper National Park, Canada taken last September. Great short hike for kids.

Snowy Trail of Shadows

Creek crossing at the Trail of Shadows in Longmire (Mount Rainier National Park). The water in this area has a brownish color due to all the minerals and there even some hot springs along the trail.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. – John 8:36

Colonial Creek Long Exposure

Here’s a long exposure from Colonial Creek Campground in North Cascades National Park.

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” – John 8:12

Aspen Trail

Here are some Aspen trees from the Valley of Five Lakes trail in Jasper National Park, Canada. We had little ones with us so we only saw three of the lakes before they got too tired. Great trail though.

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day – John 6:44

Sunwapta River

Here’s one from the rocky shores of the Sunwapta River taken in Jasper National Park in Canada.

And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day – John 6:39-40

Federation Forest Boardwalk

Here’s a tip, be very careful when wearing a pair of Chuck T’s and walking across a soggy-wooden boardwalk. I almost had my feet go out from under me multiple times. I might as well been walking on ice with the amount of traction I had. Baby steps got me across. Anyway, this is a shot from Federation Forest State Park, Washington.

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. – John 6:35

Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life – John 5:24

Sixth Bridge

This is Sixth Bridge located in Jasper National Park, Canada. Even though there weren’t that many people around it seemed as though every time I’d almost be done with the long exposure someone would walk into the frame. I don’t mind waiting but it happened a multiple times and then one guy decided to sit in the middle of the bridge and read a map. I just needed sixty seconds! I guess it was a good lesson in patience.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. – John 3:17

On the Thunder Creek Trail

The Thunder Creek Trail in North Cascades National Park is a nice flat trail (for the first two miles) that goes along…wait for it…Thunder Creek. I think it’s about 2 miles in before you hit a wooden bridge that crosses the river. I think it’s a good goal to shoot for if you have little ones. We went a little farther than the bridge but then it starts to go uphill. It wasn’t too steep but you got to keep things fun and exciting when hiking with kids. Steep usually doesn’t meet that criteria. Plus they have to be able to hike back and there’s only so many kids you can carry 🙂

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life – John 3:16
