Emmons Glacier

Here’s a view of the Emmons Glacier from the Silver Forest Trail. You can catch this hike up at the Sunrise visitor center at Mount Rainier National Park. If you are thinking of heading up there you’ll have to wait until the Spring because the road is now closed. It’s too bad because it would be fun to snowshoe up there.

Alaska

If you ever get the chance to visit Alaska don’t pass it up. It’s an amazing place. My wife and I went to Alaska on a cruise. It was our first cruise and we had an awesome time. Being on a boat has it’s advantages in that you can get some great views of the glaciers. The picture below is of the Harvard (left) and Yale (right) Glaciers in College Fjord. As you can see it was nice and sunny so all the peaks where out. To give you some scale most of the surrounding peaks are 13,000 to 15,000 feet high. It really makes you feel like an ant. Pretty awesome.
