Fall Reflections

Back in October I was cruising around Mount Rainier National Park. It was nice and sunny and I thought Reflection Lake would be a good stop. I hadn’t been there in a while so I headed up through the Paradise Visitor’s Center but the road across the valley to Reflection Lake was closed. Luckily I caught a Ranger just as he was leaving for the day and found out the lower road was open. Thanks Mr. Ranger!

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. – John 1:14

Along the Snoqualmie Falls Trail

A fall scene from the Snoqualmie Falls Trail. Enjoy.

He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—

Christine Falls

I cruised around Mount Rainier National Park back in October and my first stop was Christine Falls. I’ve driven over these falls numerous times but I’ve never stopped to check it out. I’m glad I did as it is pretty impressive with the bridge coming over top if it. There was even a couple that had just gotten married right near where I took this shot. What a back drop that must have been!

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost – Luke 19:10

Miette Road

Fall color from the Miette Road in Jasper National Park, Canada.

I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. – Luke 15:7

Medicine Lake

Here’s one from Medicine Lake up in Jasper National Park, Canada. You hit this lake as you head to Maligne Lake. The water level was pretty low so you could see tons of animal tracks crossing the lake. It would have been cool to camp out for a while and see what passes by. I would suspect you’d see some moose. Just make sure you got a long lens and mud boots.

Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? – Luke 14:34

Fall in Easton

I was going to Easton, Washington a couple weeks ago and accidentally got off on the wrong exit. As I was turning around to head back on the freeway I saw a little side-road. I thought I might as well pull over and take a picture.

“Therefore tell the people: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the Lord Almighty” – Zechariah 1:3

We Be Little Pumpkins

We stopped by a nearby farm to get some pumpkins and came across these tiny ones called “We Be Little Pumpkins”. Most would use these as decoration but at this farm you could load them up in a water-balloon type slingshot and fire away at some targets about 50 yards out. The things people think of.

“The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him” – Nahum 1:7

A Stop Along Highway 97

If you ever head on Highway 97 to/from the Wenatchee, WA area be prepared to make many photo stops. Peshastin Creek goes along the highway and provides some great opportunities for some long exposures. I was there last fall and the colors with flowing creek was pretty awesome. Definitely worth the trip.
