Misty Mountains

Here are some mountains I shot while on the top deck of a cruise ship. I believe we were heading into Glacier Bay in Alaska at the time. Such an awesome place. Make sure you have plenty of memory cards if you head to Alaska because you can fill them up pretty quickly.

It’s Who You Know

Through an awesome family connection my wife and I were not only able to take a helicopter ride but we also were able to go dog sledding on the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, Alaska. This ranked pretty high on my awesome list. So as the saying goes, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know”.

This is one of the Alaskan Huskies that was nice enough to pull us around and pose for a picture. From what I remember the Alaskan Husky differs from other Huskies in that it is leaner and has more endurance. I haven’t verified this but it sounds good to me.

Roadside Reflection

At the end of our Alaska cruise we disembarked in Whittier. There’s a tunnel that connects Whittier to the rest of Alaska that closes sometimes because of car accidents and such. When that happens locals call you a P.O.W., Prisoner of Whittier. Luckily we were able to escape Whittier and on our way to Anchorage we pulled over at a roadside turnout. When I got out I was treated with an amazing reflection.

Alaska

If you ever get the chance to visit Alaska don’t pass it up. It’s an amazing place. My wife and I went to Alaska on a cruise. It was our first cruise and we had an awesome time. Being on a boat has it’s advantages in that you can get some great views of the glaciers. The picture below is of the Harvard (left) and Yale (right) Glaciers in College Fjord. As you can see it was nice and sunny so all the peaks where out. To give you some scale most of the surrounding peaks are 13,000 to 15,000 feet high. It really makes you feel like an ant. Pretty awesome.
