Sixth Bridge

This is Sixth Bridge located in Jasper National Park, Canada. Even though there weren’t that many people around it seemed as though every time I’d almost be done with the long exposure someone would walk into the frame. I don’t mind waiting but it happened a multiple times and then one guy decided to sit in the middle of the bridge and read a map. I just needed sixty seconds! I guess it was a good lesson in patience.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. – John 3:17

On the Thunder Creek Trail

The Thunder Creek Trail in North Cascades National Park is a nice flat trail (for the first two miles) that goes along…wait for it…Thunder Creek. I think it’s about 2 miles in before you hit a wooden bridge that crosses the river. I think it’s a good goal to shoot for if you have little ones. We went a little farther than the bridge but then it starts to go uphill. It wasn’t too steep but you got to keep things fun and exciting when hiking with kids. Steep usually doesn’t meet that criteria. Plus they have to be able to hike back and there’s only so many kids you can carry 🙂

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life – John 3:16

Federation Forest Cedars

Here are some good old cedar trees from Federation Forest State Park, Washington.

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him – John 3:14-15

Pyramid Lake

This is Pyramid Lake in Jasper, Canada. It was a good thing I was in Jasper for a week because the first time I went to Pyramid Lake it was stormy with poor visibility. I saw an informational kiosk that showed the lake on a sunny day with it being surrounded mountains. I knew I had to get back there and see it in all its glory. Luckily I got a sun break and the lake was pretty easy to get to (you can drive right up to it) so I headed back for this shot.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” – John 1:29

Fall Reflections

Back in October I was cruising around Mount Rainier National Park. It was nice and sunny and I thought Reflection Lake would be a good stop. I hadn’t been there in a while so I headed up through the Paradise Visitor’s Center but the road across the valley to Reflection Lake was closed. Luckily I caught a Ranger just as he was leaving for the day and found out the lower road was open. Thanks Mr. Ranger!

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. – John 1:14

Along the Snoqualmie Falls Trail

A fall scene from the Snoqualmie Falls Trail. Enjoy.

He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—
