Sourdough Ridge Trail

Here’s one from the Sourdough Ridge Trail in Mount Rainier National Park taken over the summer. I was up in the Sunrise area a couple weekends ago and it definitely didn’t look like this. Visability was poor and it was pouring down rain. I did see three bucks though.

No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. – Luke 16:13

Hiking Thunder Knob

Here’s another trail shot from the Thunder Knob Trail in North Cascades National Park, Washington.

Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much – Luke 16:10

Leech Lake

This is from Leech Lake in Jasper National Park. Hopefully it’s named after a person with the last name of Leech and not named after the blood sucking worms. I wouldn’t venture for a dip in that lake. I’ve seen Stand by Me.

In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents – Luke 15:10

Miette Road

Fall color from the Miette Road in Jasper National Park, Canada.

I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. – Luke 15:7

Medicine Lake

Here’s one from Medicine Lake up in Jasper National Park, Canada. You hit this lake as you head to Maligne Lake. The water level was pretty low so you could see tons of animal tracks crossing the lake. It would have been cool to camp out for a while and see what passes by. I would suspect you’d see some moose. Just make sure you got a long lens and mud boots.

Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? – Luke 14:34

Clear Lake

I was at Northwest Trek a few weeks ago and had to make a stop by Clear Lake. I wonder how the people living there feel living next to a wild animal park with grizzly bears, wolves, and mountain lions. What some fences get blown down and they escape? If you live there and are thinking of selling because of this, let me know. I’ll give you $100 and I’ll make sure to send you pictures of the view so you won’t miss anything. It’s a win-win 😀

For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted – Luke 14:11

Split Rock

This boulder with a big crack in it caught me eye when I was hiking the Thunder Creek Trail in North Cascades National Park. I didn’t get up close to investigate the crack but it would be a cool place for a geocache or DB Cooper’s loot (definitely something to keep an eye out for when hiking in Washington).

But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked. – Luke 12:48

Lower Sunwapta Falls

Three waterfalls make up Sunwapta Falls. The first one is right near the parking lot. Naturally there were a bunch of people around which I try to avoid in my landscapes. So, we hiked down to the other two falls. This is the second one on the way down.

You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him – Luke 12:40

Franchere Peak

Here’s one of Franchere Peak and Cavell Lake from the Cavell Meadows Loop. We didn’t make it all the way to Cavell Meadows as it was actually pretty cold and rainy. When hiking with little ones you got to keep things enjoyable. Anyways, we turned around at the ice pond overlook and got a nice sun break looking back towards the Cavell Lake. To my back was Mount Edith Cavell which was hidden by a bunch of clouds the whole time.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. – Luke 12:34

Athabasca River

So the weather wasn’t that great when we were in Jasper. The weeks before and after we were there were sunny and 70. The week we were there it was rainy and in the 50s. We did get some higher clouds and sun breaks which I made sure not to pass up. This is of the Athabasca River looking north.

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? – Luke 12:25
