The Bridge At Silver Falls

Here’s another one of a bridge you’ll find on the Silver Falls Trail in Mount Rainier National Park. Enjoy.

For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel – Luke 2:30-32

Combine Under the Stars

Last of my night shots from the farm. Until the next time. For city folk like me, this is a combine not a tractor 🙂

Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests – Luke 2:14

Just a Glimpse

I was up at Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park doing a short hike with the family and friends. It was overcast and gloomy when we got there and the mountain wasn’t even out. We started our hike to Myrtle Falls and then towards Golden Gate and the mountain still wouldn’t show itself. But then, for about 5 minutes, the clouds parted, the sun broke through, and there she was in all her glory. I stopped along the trail and took some pictures and then just like that she was gone never to be seen or heard of again…okay okay maybe not but really we didn’t see the mountain again after that.

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. – Luke 2:10-11

A Night on the Farm

Here’s another night shot from the farm. No Milky Way but plenty of stars. You’ll notice a streak of light in the sky. Most would say it’s a shooting star but I say it’s Superman.

You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end. – Luke 1:31-33

Silver Falls Bridge

Is it just me or do other people think twice when leaking over wooden bridges like this one when hiking? I’m sure they are made well but I’m always thinking the wood planks could snap at any moment so I try to walk on the edges where they are nailed in. Maybe I’m just paranoid.

This is the bridge right by Silver Falls in Mount Rainier National Park.

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. – Mark 16:16

Wheat and Milky Way

I’ve only taken night shots a handful of times, however, lately I’ve been motivated to get out and try some. On the way back from a road trip to Montana we stopped at a friend’s wheat farm in Eastern Washington and I thought it would be a cool spot to check out the stars. Sure enough I could see the Milky Way with my naked eye and was able to capture it for my first time.

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away – Mark 13:31

Bullnado

I rarely go to rodeos but when in Montana do as the Montanans do. The Blue Moon Rodeo in Columbia Falls, Montana runs every Thursday night throughout the Summer with plenty of events. My favorite were the Bronc and Bull riding. One of my favorite captures from the night was a bull doing these crazy 360 turns that created a little tornado in the dirt he was kicking up. I have dubbed it the #bullnado.

“But in those days, following that distress, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens” – Mark 13:24-27

The Trail to Silver Falls

Here’s one from the Silver Falls Trail in Mount Rainier National Park. It’s a nice short trail near the Ohanapecosh Campground.

Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved – Mark 13:13

Avalanche Lake

This is Avalanche Lake in Glacier National Park. It’s a 4.6 mile hike to the lake and back. I’ve done this hike numerous times usually with friends that haven’t been to the park before. You pop out of some trees when you get to the lake and the view is amazing every time.

“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these” – Mark 12:30-31

Forest Stream

Here’s one from the Avalanche Lake Trail in Glacier National Park, Montana.

“‘Have faith in God,’ Jesus answered. ‘Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins'” – Mark 11:22-25
