Old and Abandoned

I did some early morning shooting a couple weeks ago and stopped by an old house I’ve wanted to photograph for a while. Here it is.

“Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” – Matthew 20:26-28

Shipwrecked Sunset

I camped at Fort Stevens, Oregon last weekend. Pretty cool place with tons of bike riding trails, old military structures, and even a shipwreck (Peter Iredale). Pretty awesome.

“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'” – Matthew 19:26

Rain Forest Loop

You know what’s stressful to do is take a long exposure with two little ones hanging around. I had the bright idea of doing a long exposure to get the water flowing under the bridge with them next to me with really nowhere for them to go since we were bound by the boardwalk we were on. For 2 minutes I fended them off while the shot developed. I told the younger one (2 years old) not to touch the tripod and of course she has to put her foot within millimeters of the tripod leg. Luckily, the shot came out because I sure wasn’t going to try another long exposure under those conditions.

This is from the Rain Forest Loop at the Carbonado Entrance in Mount Rainier National Park.

“‘Haven’t you read,’ he replied, ‘that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female, and said, For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate'” – Matthew 19:4-6

Carbonado Road Waterfall

We went for a drive last weekend with no particular place to go and ended up near the Carbonado entrance of Mount Rainier National Park. Along the road to there were a bunch of waterfalls and this is one of them.

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them” – Matthew 18:20

Tulips and a Tree

I wasn’t able to stick around until the magic hour when I went up to see the the tulips in Skagit Valley a few weeks ago but after having so many cloudy days just seeing blue skies was magic for me.

“He replied, ‘Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.'” – Matthew 17:20

Tulip Time

Last weekend we headed up to the Skagit Valley to check out the tulips. The weather was nice, the sun was out, and most of the tulips were in bloom. I’d say about 80% so if you’re thinking of checking it out now is a good time.

“What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?” – Matthew 16:26
