Lakeside

I was coming down a hill while driving along Flathead Lake on Highway 93 in Montana and I spotted this lone orange sailboat. I was hoping to find a spot where I could get down to the lake because on some lakes there’s no way to get to the shore with all the private property. I was happy to see that when I got down the hill to Lakeside that there was a public park right on the shore. Woohoo!

From the Roadside

The drive from Washington to Montana has many scenic spots. You just got to keep your eyes open and be ready to pull over. This was a good spot because there was a little bit of a shoulder and being a two lane road with a ditch on both sides there wasn’t any other place to park.

Vantage Point

This is from the Horse Monument parking area in Washington which overlooks the Vantage Bridge. We were a couple hours into about a 9 hour drive to Montana and this was a good spot to take a break and stretch our legs (there was no bathroom though). Anyway, just shortly after we got back on the road those rain clouds dumped some pretty heavy rain on us.
