Snowy Knoll

I don’t remember the name of this hill but it’s not far from the visitor center and it’s a good spot to stop and get a view if you can’t make it farther. There were a lot of people out on this day as it was so nice. It was pretty bright that day and my friend forgot his sunglasses. I don’t know how he made it but he was fine. Sunglasses are a must for me though when I’m out snowshoeing.

Inside the Empire

When I was in New York City a couple months ago I didn’t get a chance to go up the Empire State Building because I didn’t want to pay the $26 per person to ride the elevator so I took a couple pictures in the entrance. I had my tripod with me and so I was hoping to do an HDR. I didn’t think it would have been wise to set it up in the main entry because there were so many people so I wandered around and found an area where no one was around. I went to set up my tripod and as I was doing so a security guard tells me that it was not allowed. I asked him why and at first he said because he said so but then I think he saw I wasn’t trying to start trouble and he said it was a building policy. Oh well. I guess the dark-side won this time.

Mount Adams Peek-a-boo

I was hoping to make it to Panorama Point on this snowshoe trip but unfortunately we ran out of time. We did make it to this point which is not far from the parking lot which has had some nice views. That’s Mt Adams in the distance, which I’m hoping to camp at this summer.

The Tatoosh Range

It’s been pretty rainy lately but last weekend we got a really nice sunny day and so we headed up to Paradise for some snowshoeing. It was an awesome day to be on the mountain. The Tatoosh mountain range is in the distance and Mt Rainier is to my back.

Sound Living

I’m not sure if I could sleep at night living over the water like this. Alki Point can get some pretty high winds (about 50mph) and with that comes waves. I’m sure the people that built the structure thought of that but still…

This is near the Alki Point Lighthouse in West Seattle.

Two Medicine Lake

If you ever make it to Two Medicine Lake in Glacier National Park, Montana you can hike around the lake (about 3 miles), hike to Twin Falls (2 miles there and back), and then catch a ferry back from this spot. It makes for a nice relaxing boat ride after getting some exercise.
