Chihuly Glass House

I went to the Chihuly glass museum in Seattle for the first time last weekend. I haven’t really been to a museum like that before so I thought it was pretty cool. Admission was a little expensive ($19 per adult) but I had a gift card so that helped. I felt a little weird taking pictures of someone else’s art work but it was so unique that I couldn’t help it.

New York Public Library

I didn’t have time to go inside but it looked pretty sweet from the outside. What will happen to libraries when everything goes digital? I bet they’ll become Starbucks.

Gravel Road

I like road shots and wood fence shots. So why not combine them both.

Pete the Mule

A mule that didn’t mind getting his picture taken. I don’t know if it’s their temperament or their gait but I hear that mules can be more enjoyable to ride than horses. Just something to think about if you looking for a new ride.

Carnival Glory

I can’t imagine what those people went through being trapped on a cruise ship with no toilets or electricity. It’s almost like you’re camping but you can’t dig a hole and there are 3,000 other people in your campsite. Doesn’t sound good. Anyway, this is the Carnival Glory which I was aboard for an East Coast trip. (New York City to Halifax, Canada).

Dreary

During the winter in the Pacific Northwest it can get overcast and rainy but I don’t mind it so much. You can always head up to the mountains and go snowshoeing. Besides, without the rain you don’t get the green that’s so enjoyable in the summer.

Dreams of My Farmer

After watching that farmer super-bowl commercial I was reminded of a trip I made last March to a friend’s family wheat farm in Eastern Washington.

Portland Head Lighthouse

This sweet lighthouse is in Portland, Maine. I had to do a lot of walking to get there while I was visiting Portland. I didn’t have a rental car so my wife, daughter, and I caught a bus from the downtown area to Southern Maine Community College which is close to two other lighthouses (Bug Lighthouse and Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse). From there it was pretty long walk. I guess I could have got a taxi but I’m too cheap and we did get to see some cool New England houses and neighborhoods along the way so it was worth it.
