The Encroaching Frost

It had been kind of foggy near my house so I set out on a nearby trail to see what I could capture. The fog hadn’t really set in while I was hiking so I didn’t capture what I was looking for but I did see this scene as I was finishing up the hike.

Drive McClane Drive!

On my first trip to New York City this was the first thing I saw when I climbed up the steps from Penn Station. I felt like I walked onto the set of Die Hard 3. New York City was larger than life and cool to finally see it in person.

Frozen Run-Off

One of the many frozen run-off areas along the trail I went snowshoeing along the White River in Mount Rainier National Park.

Slow it Down

Here’s a long exposure from last fall in South Prairie, Washington.

Don’t Pass it Up

This is from the camp site I stayed at when camping at Two Medicine Lake in Montana. I got up early that morning to take photos at Two Medicine Lake so I was pretty tired when I got back to camp. I was just going to eat and maybe take a nap but I decided to check out the view. Good thing I took a picture because the next morning was rainy and overcast. Just a reminder to myself not to pass up shots because weather can change fast when you’re in the mountains.

Crescent Bay

I took some family photos for relatives when I was down in Orange County a few weeks ago. I don’t usually like to take people pictures but I’ll make an exception for family. This is Crescent Bay in Laguna Beach where the photo shoot started.

The White River Approaches

I went snowshoeing on a new trail this past weekend up in Mt. Rainier National Park. This one starts where the road is closed right at the Crystal Mountain turn off. You can go for pretty much as far as you want and it follows the White River for a while. You can get views of Mt Rainier but I didn’t go far enough for that. A fun thing to do in the spring is to bike up this road to Cayuse Pass when it’s plowed but not yet open to cars.

The Cantina

I noticed this room while on a Carnival cruise and it kind reminded of something out of Star Wars. I can picture Han and Lando strolling in with the Mos Eisley cantina song playing in the background. Oota goota Solo.

On the Bluff

This is the Dana Point Harbor in Orange County, California. Within the last couple of years the city opened some trails on the headlands above the harbor. I haven’t had a chance to check out the whole trail yet but maybe I will the next time I’m down there.
